3rd Workshop on Complex Networks

This international workshop on complex networks (CompleNet 2012) aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners working on areas related to complex networks. In the past two decades we have been witnessing an exponential increase on the number of publications in this field. From biological systems to computer science, from economic to social systems, complex networks are becoming pervasive in many fields of science. It is this interdisciplinary nature of complex networks that this workshop aims at addressing.

Authors are encouraged to submit previously unpublished papers/abstracts on their research in complex networks. Both theoretical and applied papers are of interest. Specific topics of interest are (but not limited to):

3. • Complex Network in Technology
4. • Complex Networks in Biological Systems
5. • Social Networks
6. • Search in Complex Networks
7. • Emergence in Complex Networks
8. • Complex Networks and Epidemics

10. • Community Structure in Networks
11. • Link Analysis and Ranking
12. • Geometry in Complex Networks
13. • Shocks and Bursts
14. • Network Evolution
15. • Networks as Frameworks
16. • Networks in Arts and Humanities
17. • Medical and Brain Networks
18. • Synchronization in Networks

Original works in the above-mentioned and other related areas will be considered. Each submitted paper/abstract will be fully refereed and undergo a double-blind review process by at least three referees. Note that double blind means that contributions should be submitted without the author names on the actual paper/abstract.

Please note that:

1. • Accepted papers/abstracts of registered authors will be published as a volume published by Springer-Verlag on theStudies in Computational Intelligence Series.
2. • Accepted abstracts may appear in the proceedings at the authors’ discretion. Authors of accepted abstracts will be contacted at due time to indicate whether they want the abstract to be included. By default abstracts will not be included in the proceedings.
3. • Every accepted poster will be included in the CompleNet 2012 program and authors will be invited to display their poster during a separate section of the workshop. However,  the abstract used for the poster submission will not be included in the proceedings.

Instructions for Submission

Submit your work electronically in PDF format. Neither hardcopy nor fax submissions will be accepted. Submissions should be printable on a standard printer on common paper formats such as A4 or letter. Submitted papers/abstracts should follow the Springer format (please visit Springer website for more details. Instructions for authors is available on the right-hand side of the page). Abstracts length should not exceed 2 pages. Accepted full papers should not exceed 12 pages in this format.

Some papers may be accepted as short papers and shall be limited to 8 pages maximum.

Submission System 

All papers/abstracts should be submitted electronically: EasyChair. In order to conform with the double-blind process we ask authors to submit the papers without author information on the actual contribution.

If you do not have EasyChair account, then register and, once you get the log-in information by mail, log into the system as an author. Enter all the required data about your submission and finally upload your contributed work in PDF format.

Authors of selected outstanding papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for consideration of publication in the Journals.

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. At least one author of accepted papers/posters/abstracts is required to register as a presenter.
